Sr. Director - Small & Medium Business Head VCS LACVisa is the market leader in SMB payments, which are the fastest-growing sector in B2B, presenting a significant opportunity to capture cash and check payments.The Head of SMB for LAC is responsible for driving vision, strategy, thought leadership, sales pipeline, and client management of existing and new SMB Credit, Debit, and Prepaid relationships. The SMB team at Visa for the US and Canada focuses on helping issuers, fintechs, processors, and governments enable their SMB clients to service and grow their businesses.As a key member of the Visa Commercial Solutions LAC leadership team, the Vice President of SMB is accountable for defining the SMB Business strategy for LAC, focusing resources to drive strategy, advocacy, and pipeline. You will manage the SMB sales pipeline and lead a team that drives revenue with existing clients and new prospects. Advocacy and purpose are core to Visa's approach in the SMB community, requiring a sales leader with a clear vision and purpose-driven strategy.You will also be responsible for driving cross-functional collaboration across key areas such as Commercial and Money Movement (Visa Direct, Visa Cross Border Solutions), Merchant Sales and Acquiring (MS&A), VAS, Government Engagement, and CyberSource.This role demands an experienced leader with deep knowledge of the SMB payment ecosystem, including financial institutions, processors, enablers, and Fintechs, to execute growth strategies. The ideal candidate has senior business development and client relationship management experience, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams in a fast-paced environment. Deep expertise in SMB products, services, and the fintech space is essential.The role requires sales acumen, strategic thinking, innovation, collaboration, and creative problem-solving skills within a matrixed organization. The candidate should have a hands-on, can-do attitude and the ability to think outside the box while inspiring others with a compelling vision.As the SR. DIRECTOR of SMB LAC, you will:

  • Drive growth, profitability, performance, and operations of Visa Commercial Solutions SMB in LAC, including managing the profit and loss.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive SMB strategy to increase revenue, payment volume, and partnerships.
  • Lead a team of sales and relationship professionals, managing opportunities from identification to closure, and account expansion.
  • Build a strong pipeline of opportunities and provide regular reporting and insights.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, establishing relationships with industry stakeholders, including traditional issuers, Payment Facilitators, FinTechs, VCs, neo banks, and processors.
  • Serve as a thought leader in SMB, understanding the competitive landscape and representing Visa at industry conferences.
  • Collaborate across departments such as Financial Institution Account Executives, Product, Digital Partnerships, Government Engagement, and the Global VCS team.
  • Build trusted external relationships with industry players, clients, and ecosystem partners.
  • Engage with senior Visa executives and clients to influence and drive decisions.
  • Communicate regularly with senior stakeholders about sales performance and strategic guidance.This is a hybrid position with days in the office to be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.Basic Qualifications: 12+ years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree, or 10+ years with an Advanced degree, or 5+ years with a PhD.Preferred Qualifications: 15+ years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree, or 12+ years with an Advanced Degree, and 9+ years of relevant experience. Proven success in sales, business development, and managing high-performing teams. Deep SMB industry knowledge, strategic initiative implementation, and excellent relationship-building skills are required. Fluency in Spanish and English is necessary; Portuguese is a plus.Work Hours: Varies based on departmental needs.Travel Requirements: 5-10% travel expected.Physical/Mental Requirements: Office-based work requiring sitting, standing, communication, and operation of standard office equipment.Visa is an EEO employer.
